I’ve just finished editing the scans I made of a zine for my sister’s birthday last September. The zine is called Inky Ham, which is exactly what you can see here; the first drawing. There are a handful of other drawings that I’ll upload shortly based on this theme. There’s a story behind the seemingly random title, I might tell it another time if anyone’s interested.
My design features Bennie from the fictional band in Elton John’s song, Bennie and the Jets. Or at least an impression of who she might be. Hidden by the crop and focus of the image, as well as an elaborate pair of Elton’s sunglasses, she remains anonymous to allow the listener to make up their mind on how the rest of her and her band appear.

I’m showing this piece in London tonight at a charity show on the theme of creativity vs climate change.
I’m pretty chuffed with this one seeing as it was just a day project.
So being stunned by the brilliance of The Dark Knight Rises a few weeks ago I decided to make a piece of work to show my gratitude to Christopher Nolan. I chose to address the theme of anonymity the film carries (just as any other superhero film does), by drawing the only visible parts of Bruce Wayne as the Bat and leaving the negative space to fill in the rest.
Butttt the temptation to draw his mask is too strong, so I’m probably gunna go do that now.
Over a thousand notes in this now… Mental!
Here are a few sketches I made today tying to prepare myself for Wednesday’s illustration workshop for the HelloHead exhibition at Cargo, London. I’ll be there amongst 13 other talented illustrators who will all be doing quick 2-5 minute portraits and raising money for the National Autistic Society.
Seeing as my drawings normally take days and not just minutes this should be a challenging but exciting evening.
I urge everyone to come down and see it. The works of Holly Wales, Telegramme, Pat Perry and Kate Copeland will be on show with many others’.
Here’s the event:
